Pixie Glassworks Glassblowing Classes
Pixie Glassworks is Edmonton's hot new glass studio and is dedicated to exploring and sharing the art of borosilicate glassblowing also known as flameworking, lampworking or torchworking. We offer state of the art equipment and some of the best new colored glass available in the world today. In our commitment to safety, we have a first rate ventilation system in place and industry standard eye protection for all students to wear.
WEEKNIGHT CLASSES
 
  • Weeknight classes are 3 hours in length, 6 pm - 9 pm
  • Rotating schedule of Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
  • Fees include: instruction, proper eye protection, safe ventilation, all materials, and studio space rental.
  • Weeknight classes only require a minimum of one student to run, and the deadline for booking is the Friday before the week of scheduled class.
  • Classes are limited to a maximum of 3 students per instructor, with the pipe-making classes being the only exception. Pipe-making classes are limited to a maximum of 2 students per instructor.
 
Your hand-made treasures will be annealed in the kiln and are then free to be taken home. 
All weeknight classes are $150.00+gst, per class, per person.
WEEKEND WORKSHOPS
 
  • Weekend workshops are two 8 hour days with an hour break for lunch, 9 am - 5 pm, Saturday and Sunday
  • Fees include: instruction, proper eye protection, safe ventilation, all materials, and studio space rental.
  • Weekend classes require two registered students to run, and the deadline for booking is the Friday of the weekend before the scheduled class weekend.
  • Classes are limited to a maximum of 3 students per instructor. Pipe-making weekend workshops are also limited to a maximum of 3 students per instructor.
 
Your hand-made treasures will be annealed in the kiln and are then free to be taken home.
Weekend workshops are $500.00+gst, per person.
*24 hours' notice is required for cancellation of a scheduled weeknight class to avoid a $30.00 cancellation fee. *Cancellation of a weekend workshop will incur in a $100.00 cancellation fee.
*Please wear fitted clothing for the class, no loose scarves or sleeves and close-toed shoes.
